WHY IT'S GREEN: At a time of increasing concern for the environment and depletion of natural resources, Artek are committed to assessing the environmental impact of our manufacturing processes and business practises. This includes planting new trees to replace those that are felled, obtaining most efficient use of the raw material, wood waste is chipped and burned for heating, and conserving energy in the manufacturing process. The factory takes into consideration guidelines issued by the EU, local authorities and other environmental advisory boards.
However we believe that one of the most important environmental considerations is that Artek furniture is extremely durable and we are always able to supply replacement parts to ensure that it can last for decades even in demanding public use.
