CLIENT OVERVIEW: Pace Homebuilders presents Greenhaven,
Atlanta's newest model for green building and sustainable design. Located in
Chelsea Landing, the first eco-friendly neighborhood community in East Cobb
County, Greenhaven will carry the US Green Building Council's LEED for Homes
(Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification and showcase the
latest in green building techniques, sustainable design, state-of-the-art-technology,
and energy efficiency, teaching that eco-living is attainable even in the suburbs.
Years of environmental responsible building practices has established Pace Homebuilders
as forerunners in Atlanta's green-building movement, allowing them to approach
Greenhaven with expert knowledge of the latest green products, energy-efficient
technology and resource-saving practices to ensure homeowners receive the healthiest
and most efficient home. In addition to LEED for Homes certification, Greenhaven
will receive the EneryStar, EarthCraft, the American Lung Association Health
House, and the National Wildlife Foundation's Backyard Wildlife Habitat certifications
and incorporate the Xeriscaping landscaping method to its outdoor environment.
Greenhaven has also pledged their support to neighboring charity the Upper Chattahoochee
Riverkeeper, raising funds whenever possible to benefit and promote the charity's
mission to clean the water of the river which flows nearby the Chelsea Landing
community.

PROJECT BRIEF: In keeping with Greenhaven's pursuit
of local sustainable design, Structured Green was charged with designing an
entire office space, children's room and outdoor area. We used our signature
"Drop Table" wood for the conference table and unexpectedly, the baby crib,
showing an unusual application of a very modern look to children's décor. The
other pieces are built from locally sourced reclaimed pine. We will also be
introducing our REGATHER line, a limited edition, low-cost solution to sustainable
furniture. With the REGATHER program we strip and rebuild pieces destined for
the landfill and refurbish them with low voc adhesives, organic upholstery,
soy latex foam and non-toxic finishes.
